
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in the television series Magnum. (1980-1988) in which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series which he won in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has co-starred in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television films that are based on the Robert B. Parker novels He played Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief from a small town, beginning in the year 2005. Selleck also played Peter Mitchell who was a student architect and a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has been seen in more than 50 movies and television shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a regular on television in roles as Monica Geller's love-interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends as well as Lance White, the likeable and charming co-star on The Rockford Files, and as the casino's owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. Cooper also played the lead role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
